Governance

The primary function of the Board is to uphold and support the vision, mission, core values, and philosophy of True North Classical Academy. The Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the school, ensuring that all decisions are made with the long-term view that the school achieve its academic goals and maintain its financial health.

True North Classical Academy has applied to be a nonprofit corporation to the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization and is an active Florida nonprofit corporation registered with the Florida Division of Corporations. As stated in its Articles of Incorporation, True North Classical Academy, is a nonprofit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Florida Nonprofit Corporation Law for public purposes. According to its Bylaws, the corporation has no members. The rights which would otherwise vest in the members vest in the directors of the corporation of school. Actions which would otherwise require approval by a majority of all members require only approval by a majority of all Directors on the Board. The specific purpose of the corporation is to manage, operate, guide, direct and promote True North Classical Academy and such other educational activities as the Board of Directors may define from time to time.
