A Word From Our Teachers

Teaching at TNCA restores my faith in education. We are not only forming the minds of our young scholars but forming their hearts and souls.

As a teacher, I have the privilege of awakening the mind and soul of a young learner; this journey brings me joy and fulfillment in the beautiful moments we share.

Dr. Martin Luther King said, ‘The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.’ Teaching at True North allows me to live this each day. As a teacher, it is amazing to work at a classical school that places equivocal importance on the development of children’s character as well as their education.

Teaching at True North Classical Academy has been the pinnacle of my career as an educator. I’ve always wholeheartedly believed in cultivating a child’s heart and soul. True North has given me that opportunity alongside being able to teach such a rich curriculum seeking truth, goodness and beauty. I can’t imagine ever teaching anywhere else. I am truly blessed to be part of the True North family.

Arriving every morning to campus feels like entering my home away from home. Teaching at True North is not a job, it is a desire to work from the heart and fulfill a greater purpose.

Teaching at True North has been an answer to my prayers. The way people love each other and care for each other at True North is like nothing I have ever seen before. Its nurturing, motivating, and supportive environment is one that allows me to inspire my students to reach their highest potential.

Teaching at True North is a wonderful experience because it is not only an environment where rigorous academics are held in high regard, but it is also a place where virtue is held in unparalleled importance. True North is not only a place where scholars are formed but also saints and warriors of virtue.

Working at a classical school means you’re granted the ability to teach the things worthy of our labor, to discover the nobility of the best that’s been thought, and to emphasize the inherent goodness of every human being. It’s a luxury not many find, and I am truly grateful.

Joining the True North family has given me the best of both worlds. I get to teach the Science that I love today to the inspired and curious leaders of tomorrow. My job is as rewarding and fulfilling as it is humbling, everyday.

Nicole Berment

Teaching in True North is the most unique and wonderful school I have ever experienced. The students are incredibly hard working, well mannered, and joyous. We teach in a community of united passionate, caring, and envisioned professionals, dedicated to making our school the most hospitable and academically rigorous place it can be. I feel that this is more like a family, and yet, in that familiarity and warmth there is still a high standard and utmost professionalism, a combination that is rare to find.

It is a great honor and privilege to teach at True North, at a school where every policy, every statement, and every action is formulated with the intent of creating the best possible person from each student. Although the burden of responsibility that we as teachers must adopt for this goal is sometimes heavy, when I see the growth students here have achieved both in their academics and in their humanity, I can go home content in the knowledge that all of our labors were fully justified.

As a music teacher, I appreciate the support the school places on the arts as an important aspect of all the students’ education from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

As the art teacher at True North, I believe everyday is an opportunity to promote and ignite a passion for the visual arts in my students. The studio environment allows for my students to thrive and engage in creative development. There is an incredible respect, and driven commitment my students, faculty and parents have for the artistic process. As an art teacher, these are the perfect elements for success!

True North is truly a community of learning more so than a school. It is an environment not only dedicated to the gain of knowledge but the growth of character and passion.

Being a teacher is not an easy job but working at True North makes it all worthwhile. Not only do I feel professionally supported, but I feel like I belong to a family. At True North everyone (staff, parents, students) cares for each other in a way you don’t often don’t see in a work environment. I truly believe it feels that way because all those who work at True North are dedicated to the vision and mission ,and they are truly seeking to find the truth , goodness and beauty in all aspects of their job.
